Exemption for CMA CAT Pass out Students in CMA Intermediate Course

Who is eligible for exemption in Paper 5 – Business Law and Ethics (BLE) of CMA Intermediate?
Students who have passed CAT Course Part- I Examination and are enrolled in the CMA Intermediate course under syllabus 2022 are eligible for exemption. Additionally, students who have passed CAT Course Part- I Examination and are enrolled in the CMA Intermediate course under syllabus 2016 but switched over to syllabus 2022 are also eligible for exemption.
Is there a fee associated with availing the exemption?
Yes, a fee of Rs. One Thousand (1000/-) only is required to avail the exemption.
Deadline for Availing the Exemption
Yes, the exemption application should be submitted before the exam registration and this exemption is applicable only up to the June 2024 exam.
Withdrawal of Exemption:
Effective from the December 2024 term of Examination, the existing exemption for CAT qualified students in Paper-5 Business Laws and Ethics under syllabus 2022 shall be withdrawn.

Students need to submit their CAT Course Part I Marksheet/Certificate along with the exemption application.
How to Claim the Exemption: Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Visit www.icmai.in.
Step 2: Navigate to the students tab.
Step 3: Select Students’ Connect Portal.
Step 4: Choose Subject Exemption Application under E-Administrative Services.
Step 5: Log in using your username (11 Digit Registration No. of CMA Inter) and password (Date of Birth).
Step 6: Select Subject Exemption Application.
Step 7: Fill in the application details.

Fill the the Applicant Details, Address details & Exemption details
- Upload Passport Size Photo (size within 200 KB) and Specimen Signature (size within 100 KB) in JPG or JPEG format.
- Upload Certificate/Marksheet in PDF format. These documents are mandatory.
Step 8: Complete the payment.
Step 9: Confirmation mail will be received in your email after verification.
